How it works

Heating from the air, even in winter

An air-source heat pump extracts warmth from the outside air, even when it’s cold, and uses it to heat your home and hot water. For every unit of electricity it uses, it delivers three or more units of heat, which is what makes it so efficient.

1

Absorbs heat from the air

A fan draws in outside air, and refrigerant absorbs its warmth, even when it is cold out.

2

Raises the temperature

A compressor boosts that heat to a useful temperature for your home.

3

Heats your home & water

The heat is transferred to your radiators, underfloor heating and hot water cylinder.

Homeowner reviews

Warmer homes across Teesside

“My worry was that I’d hire some cowboys… The whole bunch of lads were top notch guys, they offered me the solutions, explained the pros and cons and came up with a solution that would be as discrete as possible. The lads did a fantastic job, at a brilliant price. Good honest guys, I’d recommend them to anyone that is looking for air conditioning or under floor heating.”

Heat pump FAQs

What is the £7,500 grant?

The government Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers eligible homeowners in England and Wales a grant of £7,500 towards the cost of installing an air-source heat pump. We confirm your eligibility and handle the application as part of your project.

Will a heat pump keep my home warm in winter?

Yes. A correctly sized and installed heat pump keeps your home comfortable throughout a British winter. The key is a proper survey and design, which is exactly what we do before quoting.

Are heat pumps cheaper to run than my current heating?

For most homes replacing old electric, LPG or oil heating, running costs are lower thanks to their high efficiency. We will give you a realistic estimate for your home at survey.

Do I need new radiators?

Sometimes. Heat pumps run at lower flow temperatures, so a few radiators may need upsizing, or underfloor heating works very well. We assess this during the survey and include it in your quote.

How much space does it need?

The outdoor unit is roughly the size of an air conditioning condenser and sits outside against a wall or on the ground with airflow around it. We will find the best position during your survey.

Is it noisy?

Modern heat pumps are quiet, producing a low hum similar to a fridge. We position units carefully to keep sound to a minimum for you and your neighbours.
